Choose RCI Points Type That Works Best For You
Before you can choose your RCI Points you need to know what the different types of Points and the running costs.
Essential reading is our FREE RCI Points Buyers Guide 2019, it can save you thousands of dollars in running costs, we can’t stress how important it is you clue yourself up and the good news is we are here to help.
Before we start it is important to know that all RCI Points work the same throughout the World and all types of RCI Points are the same values for making bookings etc. The differences in RCI Points types are mainly noticed in some small advantages or restrictions, depending on the type you buy and the costs to run them every year.
Choosing RCI Pure Points?
So let us start with RCI Pure Points, sometimes called RCI Next generation points or just points or points without property or just being in RCI Points.
What are RCI Pure Points do I hear you ask? Well as you can imagine from the descriptions above it is buying a number of points without buying a property to get a value that you use in exchange for points. So you just purchase 25000 RCI Points and these are called RCI Pure Points.
Lets stick with the example of what you get if you choose 25000 RCI Pure Points, the cost to buy here with Holiday Max is $1,715.
What do you get if you choose RCI Pure Points? That gets you an RCI Points account, this is a login to the RCI website that contains all your membership information, such as points balance, reservations and other account info such as offers and your favorites and more.
Once logged in you can search the RCI website for where you want to go on your points vacation, see the values of the booking costs and make a booking instantly and get a confirmation all live online.
Your RCI Points management fee is invoiced for RCI by their trustee every year and in the case of 12000, RCI Pure Points in this example is around $166.
There is no property behind these RCI Pure points, instead you have an RCI Points account and that gets replenished every year with however many points you have bought the right to, in this example 25000 points a year.
Generally, you can have two main owners, called primary members for RCI membership with Pure Points, but thru Holiday Max purchases we can do up to 3 other family members, so 5 RCI co-owners on the membership but for thi9s you need to own a week and use it as points. Great if you all want to use the points and not have to get an RCI guest certificate.
What happens if you no longer want your RCI Pure Points? You simply hand them back although allow a year to withdraw.
With RCI Pure Points when you no longer wish to own them you surrender them back thru RCI. This process can take a year to withdraw depending on the status of your bookings or use. You cannot resell pure points to another new owner. If you want a residual value that you can sell, look to own RCI Points thru a property.
When you choose RCI points thru Holiday Max they are full memberships with live online booking. If you are buying elsewhere you can get RCI Pure Points that are part of a club. Club memberships generally apply restrictions according to the club itself and you must call their call center at RCI before you can book. This means you cannot book when the call centers are closed, nights or weekends for instance, whereas our Holiday Max owners can book at any time!
Choose RCI Points Type As Pure Points With Holiday Max For The Best Of All Worlds
The beauty of Holiday Max RCI pure Points is that they are stand-alone and so have every benefit with none of the Club Style restrictions you get from other vendors.
This means you can start with 12000 RCI Pure Points and rent extra points if you wish (this is from around $0 a point) or you can add more points or a week as points as you go, we do not restrict your options to buy more. RCI let you rent up to 50% of your current holding any year.
Better still you can try to use your RCI points with one of our Holiday Max 3-year RCI Platinum Points trials that you can keep if you want after the trial or just let it end
Choose RCI Points Participation. Owning Prime Real Estate Awarded RCI Timeshare Property
Now we move on and see what you get when you choose RCI Points Participation that you get when you own the timeshare week and use it as a points value. How does that work?
Buying a week of timeshare as RCI points. Well as you can imagine from the description it is just that. You buy a week or weeks of timeshare, which has specific points values with RCI and you have an RCI Participation Agreement.
Here at Holiday Max, we use super prime Real Estate Property at the highest valued locations in an area designated as National Park and an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We use red time high season, 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms RCI Gold Crown awarded stock. Even better you actually get a share of the property as an owner.
How does an RCI Participation Agreement work? When you buy the weeks you enter into an agreement with RCI and this is called an RCI Participation agreement. What does this do? Well, that is really quite simple.
You have an arrangement with RCI that works like this. You always give RCI your timeshare apartment week/s every year (automatically) and in return, RCI always gives you a fixed amount of RCI Points back in return.
Lets stick with the example of what you get if you choose a week from Holiday Max at our Gold Crown resort worth 79,000 RCI Points For Sale, the cost to buy here with Holiday Max is $3,305.
This gets you a 2 bedroom September red time RCI high season timeshare week that has a specific value in RCI of 79,000 RCI Points. The yearly management fee to the resort is $674. and that is included with purchase for the first year of use.
So you buy the 2 bedroom September week and you also have an RCI Participation agreement for it. So what do you get once you complete the purchase?
What do you get if you choose RCI Points with the property? That gets you the ownership deed for the September week, an RCI Points account, this is a login to the RCI website that contains all your membership information, such as points balance, reservations and other account info such as offers and your favorites and more.
You own the 2 bedroom September week, which RCI has the use of every year to put other RCI members into. What you get every year are your 79000 RCI points to do with as you wish.
Generally, you can have two main owners, called primary members for your property ownership and Holiday Max let you have up to 3 other family members or friends on the deed. This is the Holiday Max resort here in England, we do sell other resorts and so it depends on the ownership types as to how many owners you can have.
You can choose up to 5 RCI Points members so long as they are all named on your deed. Great if you all want to use the points and not have to get an RCI guest certificate.
What happens if you no longer want your RCI Points? Before you can sell your week of timeshare you have to surrender your RCI Points Participation Agreement. This process only takes around a year to withdraw depending on the status of your bookings or use. For instance, you may have borrowed points from the future and have a vacation booked for the following year.
Because your agreement with RCI lets them use your week, they will have allocated that week in your timeshare apartment to another RCI guest and so you can’t just pull it back as that is someone else’s vacation currently.
Once RCI gives you the date of withdrawal you can then move on to sell your week of timeshare. We resell weeks for our Holiday Max owners and handle the whole process without any advance fees or costs should you choose to sell your week. Our resort also has a hand back agreement if you would prefer to hand back the timeshare rather than resell it and recoup its value. We would be delighted to explain this in greater depth please do just ask us.
